Friday 6th February - Arrival in Shakespeare’s Hometown
Our weekend adventure begins with a comfortable coach journey. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenic journey through the English countryside.
En Route, we’ll make a stop in the delightful town of Leamington Spa, renowned for its elegant Regency architecture, beautiful gardens, and boutique shops. This is the ideal opportunity to stretch your legs, enjoy a coffee, or take a short stroll around the town.
Following our visit, we continue onwards to Stratford-upon-Avon. Check in to the hotel and take some time to unwind before the evening. Later, savour a delicious three-course dinner in the hotel restaurant, followed by an overnight stay in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Saturday 7th February - Exploring Stratford & Beyond
Begin your day with a hearty full English breakfast in the hotel restaurant. The morning and early afternoon are free for you to explore Stratford-upon-Avon at your own pace.
You might wish to visit Shakespeare’s Birthplace, step inside the romantic Anna Hathaway’s Cottage, or explore Holy Trinty Church, where the Bard himself is laid to rest. For a different perspective of the town, enjoy a leisurely cruise along the River Avon, gliding past historic streets, picturesque bridges, and scenic riverside gardens a wonderful way to appreciate Stratford’s charm from the water.
After your cruise and sightseeing, there will be some free time to browse the town’s independent shops, take a riverside stroll, or relax in one of Stratford’s welcoming tearooms. In the evening, enjoy dinner at the hotel, and perhaps a quick drink in the bar before your second overnight stay in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Sunday 8th February - Waterside Market & Journey Home
After breakfast, we’ll spend the morning at the Stratford-upon-Avon Waterside Market, a lively celebration of local craftsmanship.
Take time to browse the handcrafted goods, artisan foods, unique gift, and local produce a lovely chance to pick up a keepsake or two from your weekend. In the early afternoon, we’ll bid farewell to Stratford-upon-Avon and begin our journey home, with a scenic stop in the historic town of Ironbridge. Here you can enjoy a leisurely stroll across the world’s first cast-iron bridge, explore the charming riverside shops and cafes, or simply take in the beautiful views of the Severn Gorge a perfect final highlight to round off the trip.
Then, we’ll continue our journey home, taking with us fond memories of a truly enjoyable weekend in Shakespeare’s hometown and birthplace of the Industrial Revolution.
