Located in the heart of the Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells, the elegant Metropole Hotel offers a comfortable and welcoming base for our Mid Wales break. Spacious en-suite bedrooms provide all modern comforts, while leisure facilities including an indoor pool, steam room and gym offer the perfect place to relax. Guests can also enjoy delicious three-course dinners in the hotel’s restaurant, ensuring a pleasant and restful stay.

Itinerary

Monday – Arrival in Llandrindod Wells
We travel to Mid Wales, arriving late afternoon at the elegant Metropole Hotel. After tea/coffee on arrival and porterage to your room, there is time to relax and enjoy the leisure facilities before a three-course dinner this evening.

Tuesday– Powis Castle
Following a Full Welsh breakfast, we visit the magnificent Powis Castle and its spectacular terraced gardens. We then take the short journey to Coed-Y-Dinas Garden Centre for some free time before we head back to the hotel for our evening meal.

Wednesday – Vale of Rheidol Railway & Aberystwyth
Today we travel to Aberystwyth for a return steam journey on the Vale of Rheidol Railway to Devil’s Bridge, taking in stunning valley scenery. There will be free time in Aberystwyth before returning to the hotel for dinner and evening entertainment.

Thursday – Brecon Mountain Railway & Penderyn Distillery
We board the Brecon Mountain Railway for a scenic journey through the Brecon Beacons, including a stop at Pontsticill Reservoir. Later, we enjoy a guided tour and tasting at Penderyn Distillery before returning for our final dinner.

Friday – Homeward Journey
After breakfast and porterage, we depart for home, bringing our enjoyable Mid Wales break to a close.
